Do you Beleive? - You must be born again

Posted by galenamissions in Do You Believe?

Jesus answered him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God." John 3:3

It is a supernatural thing when God changes a human heart. No less miraculous than the recreation of the universe at the end of the age. This is what Jesus points to when he says we must be born again.

Do you Believe? _ Why the Cross?

Posted by galenamissions in Do You Believe?

16 Thus he shall make atonement for the Holy Place, because of the uncleannesses of the people of Israel and because of their transgressions, all their sins. Leviticus 16:16.

The Cross of Christ is the central point of history. But why? Why the cross? In this sermon we'll look to the Old Testament forshadowing of the cross in the Day of Atonement.

Do you Believe? — A Historical Jesus

Posted by galenamissions in Do You Believe?

Daniel 9:24-27 "Seventy weeks are decreed about your people and your holy city, to finish the transgression, to put an end to sin, and to atone for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal both vision and prophet, and to anoint a most holy place. (25) Know therefore and understand that from the going out of the word to restore and build Jerusalem to the coming of an anointed one, a prince, there shall be seven weeks. Then for sixty-two weeks it shall be built again with squares and moat, but in a troubled time. (26) And after the sixty-two weeks, an anointed one shall be cut off and shall have nothing. And the people of the prince who is to come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. Its end shall come with a flood, and to the end there shall be war. Desolations are decreed. (27) And he shall make a strong covenant with many for one week, and for half of the week he shall put an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of abominations shall come one who makes desolate, until the decreed end is poured out on the desolator."

The Gospel hinges on the historical person of Jesus. To believe the Gospel is to believe Jesus. But what does it mean to believe in Jesus?

Do you Believe? — God has spoken

Posted by galenamissions in Uncategorized, Do You Believe?

Psalm 19:1 The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.

When we call people to believe the Gospel, on what grounds can we claim that what the Bible says is authoritative. It takes belief in the truth that God has spoken through special revelation in the Bible. In this sermon we look at Psalm 19 and are called to believe that God has in fact spoken.
