Tuesday Jan 24, 2017
Tuesday Jan 24, 2017
Revelation 7:9-10 After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, (10) and crying out with a loud voice, "Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!"
Racial strife and disharmony are the social norms of our world today. What is the answer? The Gosple! Sermon delivered to the Galena Bible Church, Sunday January 22nd, 2017 by Pastor Chris Kopp.

Romans 6:22 But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the fruit you get leads to sanctification and its end, eternal life.
It's trur that in Christ all sin of a believer has been paid. They are FREE. So why do we struggle with sin AFTER becoming a Christian. Time for us to understand the second gift of the Gospel.

Luke 2:14 "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!"
Everyone loves presents. But not everyone loves presents equally. If you recieve a gift that you don't really think you need, you might not even bother opening it. When Jesus was born he accomplished three progressivly better things. He paid the penalty for our sin. He, through the Holy Spirit, breaks the power of sin in our lives, and one day he will remove the presence of sin from his Kingdom. But none of this is glorious news if we don't believe we have sin.

Acts: When Things Don't Go As Planned
Monday Nov 07, 2016
Monday Nov 07, 2016
Acts 13:45 But when the Jews saw the crowds, they were filled with jealousy and began to contradict what was spoken by Paul, reviling him.
I don't think Paul set out on his first missionary journey thinking that it would involved almost being killed. No one sets out following Jesus with the plan of things being hard. But when things do get hard, does it mean that God failed? What about if things get REALLY hard? Every town Paul walked into he was mocked, and refuted, but every town he left there were disciples of Jesus left in the wake. How do we learn to trust God when things don't go as planned.

Acts: Repentance that leads to life
Monday Oct 31, 2016
Monday Oct 31, 2016
Acts 11:18 When they heard these things they fell silent. And they glorified God, saying, "Then to the Gentiles also God has granted repentance that leads to life."
Cornelius was a Roman Centurion that any church would just about do anything to have as a member. He was devout, feared God, was generous to everyone, and prayed continually. Only one problem...He wasn't saved. Thousands upon thousands of "Corneliuses" walk through the doors of churches every week. They are GREAT people, leaders, mentors, but do not have "repentance that leads to life". So how do we preach the Gospel to them?
