Celebrate Recovery: God is...Weep and be glad
Monday Mar 07, 2016
Monday Mar 07, 2016
Blessed are those who weep, for they shall be comforted.
Matthew 5:4
What if? What if there really is a God? What if that God revealed himself to mankind? What if mankind was supposed to reflect the character of that God and didn't? What if?
If we earnestly believe that God exists, that we matter to him, and that he has the power to help us recover from our brokenness, then we can be well on our way towards healing. Do you believe that God is?
Sermon delivered to the Galena Bible Church, Sunday March 6th, 2016 by pastor Chris Kopp.

Celebrate Recovery: Powerless without Jesus
Monday Feb 29, 2016
Monday Feb 29, 2016
Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of God. Matthew 5:3
I'm an addict. I'm addicted to sin. And so are you. The Bible calls this our sin nature. That there are areas of our life that we simply are ashamed of, don't like, and wish no one would ever know about us reveals this truth about ourselves. It is to this point that Jesus says we are "blessed" if we are "poor in spirit". We realize we are not God and are spiritual bankrupted before him. It is only at this starting point that we can find genuine recovery.
This is the first sermon in a series walking through the Beatitudes and the 8 principles of recovery based upon them of Celebrate Recovery. Delivered by pastor Chris Kopp, Sunday February 28th, 2016 to the Galena Bible Church.

March 1:14-15 Now after John was arrested, Jesus came into Galilee, proclaiming the gospel of God, (15) and saying, "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.""Repentance" is often a term referred to as being only for "Hell fire" preaching term. Yet it was the core of what Jesus first message was, "Repent and believe the gospel." Only when we see our sin as sinful will the gospel actually be good new. Delivered to the Galena Bible Church by pastor Chris Kopp, Sunday February 21st, 2016.

Ancient Marriage

Monday Jan 18, 2016
Genesis 2:24-25 Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. (25) And the man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed. The purpose and meaning of marriage in modern culture had been muddled and confused. How did marriage start? Was there a design? What about sex? These questions and more are ones we seek answers to as we look at sanctity of marriage.Sermon delivered to the Galena Bible Church, Sunday January 17th, 2015 by pastor Chris Kopp.

Psalm 139:15-16 My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.57,000,000. That's the estimated number of children that have been killed in the United States through the medical procedure known as abortion since Roe V Wade went through the Supreme Court. 57,000,000 innocent image bearers of the eternal God, slaughtered in what should have been the safest place in the world and in their entire lives. What does the Bible have to say about it? A whole lot. And if you are a follower of Jesus, you cannot be silent about it either.Sermon Delivered to the Galena Bible Church by Pastor Chris Kopp, Sunday January 10th, 2016.

We Wait For Him
Monday Dec 28, 2015
Monday Dec 28, 2015
Isaiah 25:9 It will be said on that day, "Behold, this is our God; we have waited for him, that he might save us. This is the LORD; we have waited for him; let us be glad and rejoice in his salvation."What are you waiting for right now? A better job? Better marriage? Better health? Are you waiting for circumstances to be different or a different outcome to events in your life? When all is done, Isaiah 25:9 tells us we won't be declaring those things. We'll be declaring "BEHOLD! This is our GOD!" God is the Gospel. Want to learn how to make it through this life? Learn to wait on Him.Sermon delivered to the Galena Bible Church, Sunday December 27th, 2015 by Pastor Chris Kopp.

Unto Us a Child Is Born
Monday Dec 21, 2015
Monday Dec 21, 2015
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given. Isaiah 9:6Imagine you were the only person in the world with the ability to see. How would you tell people about the sun? It's the same challenge that Christians have speaking the Gospel into Christmas time in a world that does not know him. God works to bring His joy to the nations. How does he do that? Through (1) freeing us from sin, (2) granting victory over the war of our flesh, (3) exchanging His Son for us. Today I ask you the question, "Has Christ been born unto you?"Sermon delivered to the Galena Bible Church, Sunday December 20th, 2015 by pastor Chris Kopp.
